SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in the treatment of caries at the stage of preparation with control of the thickness of the dentin remaining at the bottom. The surgical field is isolated before preparation, the tooth surface is cleaned with sodium bicarbonate powder. After that, the affected enamel and dentin are prepared with aluminum oxide powder with a particle size of 50 microns. Then, to control the thickness of the dentin and select the mode of further preparation, at the stage of necrectomy in the middle layers of the dentin, dentinometry is performed using the EndoEst-3D apparatus in the PULP mode, fixing the passive electrode of the apparatus on the lip, and the active electrode of the apparatus touches the bottom of the prepared tooth cavity. A study is carried out over the entire area of the bottom of the prepared tooth cavity, the deepest point of the cavity is revealed, according to which the thickness of the supra-pulpal dentin is determined, while the measurement process is accompanied by a light indication, and with a green color signal of the apparatus indicating the thickness of the dentin in the bottom of the carious cavity 2.5 mm and above, air-abrasive preparation is carried out with aluminum oxide powder with a particle size of 29 microns at a distance of 1.5 mm from the treated surface with final grinding with sodium bicarbonate powder, and with orange and red color signals of the device indicating the thickness of the dentin in the area the bottom of the carious cavity from 2.4 mm to 1 mm, air-abrasive preparation is carried out with aluminum oxide powder with a particle size of 29 microns, removing the tip nozzle at a distance of at least 3 mm from the treated surface, with final grinding with sodium bicarbonate powder.

EFFECT: method, due to the inclusion of a diagnostic component (morphometry) at the stage of necrectomy, allows to choose a rational algorithm for the preparation of carious lesions of various depths and the necessary filling materials for the subsequent treatment of caries, which increases the effectiveness of the treatment of dental caries.
