FIELD: animal husbandry.
SUBSTANCE: counting the number and determining the spatial distribution of elk and Siberian roe deer. Calculate the minimum required survey area of the study territory. Plan routes that consist of straight parallel sections evenly spaced within the boundaries of the survey area. Flights of an unmanned aerial vehicle are carried out along the established routes, from which continuous photography of registration strips of the same width is carried out from a height of 20 to 500 meters above the ground, and at the same time the track of the route is recorded. In the resulting photographs, silhouettes of elk and Siberian roe deer are identified and their number in the survey area is counted. The data obtained are extrapolated to the entire study area.
EFFECT: invention provides objective, reliable data on the number and territorial distribution of elk and Siberian roe deer.
