ROTARY ENGINE WITH EXTERNAL HEAT SUPPLY Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC F01C1/344 F02G1/00

Abstract RU 2814331 C1

FIELD: engine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rotary heat engines. Engine with external heat supply is composed of one or, as a combination, several modules based on a rotary machine, with selected parameters for a certain module, with heating and cooling zones, where a certain module implements a corresponding stroke of a given closed or open thermodynamic operating cycle of the engine, and series-connected, respectively, elements of the inlet-outlet path, including pipelines and heat exchangers, with serial continuous-uniform-unidirectional flow of working medium in engine, with possible use of regenerator or recuperator. A rotor machine of a certain module comprises fixed housing 1 with grooves made in it, rotor 2 rigidly fitted on shaft 3, and a retractable device (RD). Grooves with rim 16 of rotor 2 form cavities 8, which have inlet openings 9 and outlet openings. Rotor 2 is made in the form of a wheel with rim 16, having ring-shaped projection 17 corresponding to the profile of the grooves of housing 1. In the body of rotor 2 in channels-guides 7 isolated from the internal free space there are bent blades or straight blades 5 having a hinged connection with the RD elements, which provides, matched with angle of rotation of rotor 2, movement of blade and proper abutment of end of blade with sealing elements to profile surface of wall 12 of housing 1. Rotor machine with retractable blades comprises either rotor 2 with curved blades with a constant radius of curvature greater than the radius of rotor 2 in tangentially located guide channels 7, RD connecting rod head has a hinged connection with cylindrical rod 19 located at the blade end, with plates 20 fixed on rod 19, which cover the side of guide channel 7, which is open for the hinge stroke, or rotor 2, having not more than two straight blades 5 in the radially arranged guide channels 7, each of which passes through the whole body of rotor 2 and has outlets for blades on two opposite sides of rotor 2 along a diagonal line, the RD is built on the basis of a gear-crank mechanism. Shaft 22 of the RD module is individual for each blade, is freely fixed in housing 1 of the engine and is shifted towards the maximum extension of the blade. Gear wheel 24 of RD shaft 22 engages with rim 25 on inner rim 16 of hollow shaft 4 of rotor 2 and has diameter and number of teeth twice less than toothed rim 25 of hollow shaft 4 of rotor 2. RD Crank arm 23 is connected to hinge element at blade end. Modules with rotor 2 containing two blades crossing at right angle and having one functional cavity 8 perform two different strokes or doubling of working strokes per revolution.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing efficiency in using energy of gases and, accordingly, efficiency, increasing specific power and reducing dimensions of the engine, improving reliability, ease of maintenance and repair.
