FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of materials for permanent magnets, components of electronic devices, such as antennas, cores, magnetic circuits and memory elements, as well as catalysts in gas purification devices. Manganese-substituted barium hexaferrite is obtained by coprecipitation from chloride solutions. To do this, first solutions of iron chloride are prepared in distilled water FeCl3⋅6H2O, barium chloride ВаCl2⋅2H2O and manganese chloride MnCl2⋅4H2O, taken in a stoichiometric ratio, and then mixed with each other. A solution of an alkaline reagent, potassium hydroxide, is gradually introduced into the resulting mixture, through which the pH is adjusted to 13. The resulting precipitate is separated in a centrifuge, followed by drying in an oven at 90°C for 24 hours and washed with a mixture of distilled water and ethyl alcohol, taken in a volume ratio of 50/50. The washed sediment is dried for 4 hours, washed again using the specified mixture, and dried again for 24 hours. Then synthesis firing is carried out in air at 1100°C for 5 hours until sintering and obtaining a sintered powder.
EFFECT: obtaining manganese-substituted barium hexaferrite with a given degree of iron substitution.
