FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and can be used in making effective electrode materials for lithium- and zinc-ion current sources, supercapacitors, oxidation catalysts, as well as antibacterial and anticancer drugs. Reaction mixture is prepared containing an aqueous solution of potassium permanganate KMnO4 and an organic compound in form of tartaric acid C4H6O6, with molar ratio of 2:1. Prepared reaction mixture is subjected to hydrothermal treatment at temperature of 160–200 °C and pressure of 10–20 bar for 5–20 minutes in conditions of microwave radiation with frequency of 2.45 GHz and power of 15–20 W with constant stirring at speed of 100–300 rpm. Formed precipitate is filtered, washed and dried.

EFFECT: obtained particles of manganese oxide nanopowder Mn3O4 are characterized by high specific surface area of 75 m2/g, monomodal distribution of pores with predominance of mesopores with size of 22 nm, the volume of which is 0,37 cm3/g, with no agglomeration of particles.
