FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to ferrite-pearlitic steel used for making mechanical parts of cars. Steel has a composition containing the following elements, wt.%: 0.2 ≤ C ≤ 0.5; 0.8 ≤ Mn ≤ 1.5; 0.4 ≤ Si ≤ 1; 0.15 ≤ V ≤ 0.6; 0.01 ≤ Nb ≤ 0.15; 0.01 ≤ Cr ≤ 0.5; 0.01 ≤ P ≤ 0.05; 0.04 ≤ S ≤ 0.09; 0.01 ≤ N ≤ 0.025; if necessary, at least one element from: 0 ≤ Al ≤ 0.05; 0 ≤ Mo ≤ 0.5; 0.01 ≤ Ni ≤ 0.5; 0 ≤ Ti ≤ 0.2; 0 ≤ B ≤ 0.008 and 0 ≤ Cu ≤ 0.5; rest is iron and unavoidable impurities. Microstructure of said steel includes 60–90% of pearlite, 10–40% of ferrite, optionally 0-2% of needle ferrite, wherein the niobium equivalent, which is the amount of niobium present in the form of carbides, nitrides and/or carbonitrides, is 80% or more of the nominal content of niobium in the steel.
EFFECT: required mechanical properties of steel are provided.
