FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hydraulic structures and is intended to protect water areas, coasts and engineering structures from wave impacts. A permeable breakwater is a rip-rap of wave-damping elements: large stones or curly blocks. Retention of the outline elements inside the body of the breakwater is provided by corner gratings, the gaps in the vertical walls of which are smaller than the characteristic size of a stone or figured block. The stability of the gratings is ensured by loading their bases with outline elements.
EFFECT: use of corner gratings eliminates the need to manufacture relatively material-intensive and large-sized metal frames, which reduces labour intensity and shortens construction time while maintaining the wave damping efficiency of the structure.
