FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigation of strength properties of solid materials by application of mechanical forces to them. Device consists of a body, a matrix, a plunger, a puncheon, a ring sample, a polyurethane insert, a spacer, a cup, a package of disk springs, a ring, pins, nuts and washers. Matrix is fitted on body while puncheon is fitted on plunger by screws. All parts of the structure, except for fasteners, are assembled coaxially; at that, they represent axisymmetric bodies of revolution. Polyurethane insert and sample are installed in matrix. Tightened nuts press the polyurethane insert through the ring, the cup and the spacer, at the same time the pressing force is controlled by deformation of the package of disk springs installed in the cup having the form of a ring with two walls at the edges. Puncheon is installed in matrix with thrust against sample end. Matrix and puncheon are made of tool steels.
EFFECT: enabling triaxial compression tests of metals and other materials with high yield strength and ultimate strength.
