FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in mining, as well as in other industries. Method for automatic control of bucket wheel excavator, consisting in measurement of controlled values and output of control signals of actuators, note here that automatic operating modes of excavator are envisaged: protection mode of rotor boom against lateral overload, mode of protection against overload of rotor wheel, mode of compensation of crescent shape of cut. Values of currents of rotor boom motors and rotor wheel are used as measured controlled values, measured values are compared with preset values. Based on the comparison, the overload coefficients are determined and the rotor boom turn speed is controlled in the specified protection modes.
EFFECT: providing control of a bucket wheel excavator in automatic and semi-automatic modes, providing optimal trajectories of rotor wheel movement, providing protection against overloads at maximum filling of ladles with material, increasing speed of material processing.
