FIELD: solar engineering; electric power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to provide protection of photovoltaic modules against atmospheric overvoltage at objects of industrial, agricultural and individual purpose. Surge protection device, consisting of two series-connected varistors, protection circuit additionally includes three self-recovering fuses connected in series by protective Schottky diodes, protection module is built into the terminal part of the photoelectric module and all semiconductor radioelectronic components are compactly located on a common textolite printed circuit board, common point of grounding bus of varistors is connected to metal frame of photovoltaic module frame.
EFFECT: device provides protection of both photoelectric elements and semiconductor diodes from thunderstorm electromagnetic disturbances; components of the protection device do not require periodic maintenance.
