SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of determining the degree of wear of equipment using identification of corrosion indicators of structural material. Method for diagnosing corrosion of a pipeline includes: determining dimensions of parameters, calculation of the size of the parameter of the structural element, determination of corrosion wear in the place of the corrosion process by the initial and actual dimensions of the structural elements, obtaining the predicted size of the pipeline wall thickness.
EFFECT: possibility of determining change in thickness of the pipeline on each specific day individually, taking into account the corrosion rate at the point under consideration and temperature parameters, pressure in the pipeline, physical and chemical properties of transported medium, et cetera, taking into account the change for each day, based on the result of the previous day and on the current operating parameters of the pipeline, which improves the accuracy of determining corrosion parameters and predicting corrosion for the design period.
