FIELD: desalination of sea water.
SUBSTANCE: water is supplied through the pump to the first stage reverse-osmosis filtration module. Specific conductivity of the first stage permeate is measured. When the permeate specific conductivity is higher than 1,000 mcS/cm, the installation is stopped and the first stage forced permeate preparation system is connected to the first stage reverse osmosis module, which includes a normally closed on-off valve, ion-exchange filter, manual non-return on-off valve. Performing the first stage permeate preparation in the ion-exchange filter with the first stage reverse osmosis filtration module delivery to the pump suction to the measured value of specific conductivity of the permeate equal to 500–1,000 mcS/cm. At specific conductivity of permeate equal to 500–1,000 mcS/cm, part of permeate is supplied from outlet of the first stage to fresh water tank, and part is supplied as initial water to the second stage of installation.
EFFECT: higher reliability of reverse osmosis seawater desalination plant.
