FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of composite materials based on sulphur binder, including sulphur concrete and sulphur asphalt concrete. Sulphur-polymer composite material for forming high-strength articles contains modified sulphur as a binder, which has reacted with an organic modifier, and finely dispersed inorganic filler with given open porosity. Inorganic filler is finely dispersed aluminium oxide and/or silicon dioxide with particle size of 1–30 mcm, with specific surface area of 11,400–13,620 cm2/g and pore volume of 0.1–2.061 cm3/g. Sulphur modifier used is a product of deep processing of logging wastes, containing: terpene acids – 23–25 wt.%; mixture of unsaturated organic acids, alcohols and phenol compounds – 17–19 wt.%; turpentine – 57–59 wt.%. Components are taken at the following ratio: sulphur – 50 wt.%, filler with modifier – 50 wt.%, with ratio of weight parts filler : modifier – 47.5–49.5: 2.5–0.5.
EFFECT: disclosed invention enables to obtain a sulphur-polymer composite material with low moisture absorption and high compression strength.
