SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary pharmacy, in particular to preparations for the treatment and prevention of cardiac pathologies in animals and can be used in veterinary science and animal breeding for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases in animals. Disclosed is an antioxidant preparation for the treatment and prevention of cardiac pathologies in animals, comprising 3-oxypyridine derivative, in form of methylethylpyridinol hydrochloride, meldonium dihydrate, inosine, polyvinylpyrrolidone and water for injections, at the following ratio of components, wt.%: methylethylpyridinol hydrochloride – 0.8–1.2; inosine – 0.8–1.2; meldonium dihydrate – 1.5–2.5; polyvinylpyrrolidone – 2.5–4.5; water for injections – balance.

EFFECT: preparation provides evident cardioprotective, antioxidant and cardiotrophic action, has low toxicity, provides high effectiveness of prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in animals, ease of administration and dosage.
