SUBSTANCE: invention relates to quality control of anti-wear additives for diesel fuels. Disclosed is a method for determining the weight fraction of resin acids in anti-wear additives for diesel fuels, including sampling and diluting a sample with methylene chloride, chromatographic separation on a thin layer of silica gel deposited on quartz rods, under the action of an eluent, flame-ionisation detection and subsequent determination of the ratio of the amount of fatty and resin acids in the analysed sample by the ratio of the areas of the corresponding peaks, wherein chromatographic separation of the sample is carried out under the action of an eluent, which is a mixture of dichloromethane and acetone in ratio of 19:1, and elution is carried out with the eluent front moving at distance of 75±5 mm from the point of sample application on quartz rods.

EFFECT: invention widens the range of the method for determining resin acids using thin-layer chromatography with simultaneous reduction in the time for determining resin acids by reducing the number of successive elution steps.
