FIELD: organic synthesis.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic synthesis and specifically to a method of producing a compound which can be used in medical practice as an agent having antiaggregation and antioxidant action. Disclosed is a method of producing 2-((1S,2R,5S)-6,6-dimethylbicyclo[3.1.1]hept-2-yl)methylsulfanyl ethanol of formula I by reacting cis-mirtanethiol with 2-bromoethanol in the presence of cesium carbonate (Cs2CO3) and tetrabutylammonium iodide (TBAI) while heating the mixture in an inert gas medium until complete consumption of cis-myrtanethiol.

EFFECT: use of the invention increases output of the target compound to 95 %.
