FIELD: various technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing ceramic-vermiculite articles for high-temperature heat insulation in the form of bricks, blocks, shells and plates, industrial equipment, for lining of annealing furnaces with operating temperature of up to 1,070 °C, for production of construction materials. Method of producingvermiculite articles involves preparation of a mixture with moulding moisture content of 18–25%, articles are moulded by pressing in moulds, dried and fired. Mixture is prepared by mixing refractory chamotte clay, ground calcium silicate, expanded vermiculite with grain size of 0.3–2.5 mm, amorphous microsilica with addition of water and liquid glass. Mixture components are in the following ratio, wt.%: refractory clay 25–35, ground calcium silicate 30–40, expanded vermiculite with grain composition of 0.3–2.5 mm 20–25, amorphous microsilica 10–15, liquid glass 1–2.

EFFECT: reduction of technological cycle during production of light-weight heat-insulating products, providing low heat conductivity and high heat resistance while maintaining high mechanical strength of products, increased fire resistance of the article, reduced volumetric shrinkage of workpieces during drying and firing, reduced sintering temperature.
