SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a preparation and a method for preventing associated gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases in calves. Preparation for the prevention of associated gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases in calves is a sterile culture fluid, obtained by culturing the fungus Trametes pubescens (strain 0663) on a nutrient medium of the following composition, g/l: monosubstituted potassium phosphate—1.88; potassium chloride—0.94; magnesium sulphide—0.94; sucrose—40.00; microcrystalline cellulose—12.50; enzymatic peptone—12.50; sodium selenite—0.003; zinc sulphate—1.0; glycerine—5.0. Also disclosed is a method for preventing associated gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases in calves, the method involves adding said preparation to milk for feeding in dose of 0.3–0.6 ml per 1 kg of animal’s live weight once day for 8–10 days. Introduction of an additional glycerine component into the culture medium for fermentation of the producer has a stimulating effect on the growth and development of the producer fungus, promotes activation of natural metabolic activity of producer, leads to increase of antimicrobial, antioxidant, immunostimulating and antiviral activity due to increase of fatty acids content.

EFFECT: method of prevention allows to increase safety of animals in large livestock farms and to increase weight gain of young cattle.
