FIELD: glass industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for production of glass, more specifically to design of a bath glass-melting furnace, and can be used in lighting engineering, defense and construction materials industry. Bath glass-melting furnace contains a melting tank, channels with molten metal, a window for charge loading, a heating system and a smoke removal riser, a duct. At the same time the window for charge loading is located in the filling wall of the tank, opposite the flow wall. Heating system and smoke discharge riser are located in the furnace roof. Duct is located in the flowing wall of the tank. Channels near the longitudinal walls of the tank are connected by a channel along the filling wall. Furnace additionally contains barriers with height of 0.4–0.6 of the tank depth, which divide the tank into a cavity with molten glass and channels with molten metal. Height of the obstacle is equal to the width of the channels. In the corners of the flowing wall of the tank there are chambers in which pistons are mounted, which are made with possibility of synchronous movement along the channels.

EFFECT: melting of glasses of ruby compositions, improvement of glass quality, saving of metal.
