FIELD: image recognition.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of recognizing people on video images. Method comprises steps of: receiving a current frame from a video camera; detecting human figures on the current frame using computer vision methods, highlighting each detected figure with a bounding box; for each detected bounding box on the current frame, generating a vector representation of the bounding box image; calculating the similarity of each vector representation, previously generated for the previous frame, with each vector representation generated for the current frame, by the cosine distance between vectors; determining mutual correspondence between vector representations for the previous frame and for the current frame; for each detected bounding box on the current frame, recognizing a person whose figure is highlighted by said detected bounding box; and a marked frame is generated by applying, for each recognized person, a corresponding bounding box and a text indication of the current frame.

EFFECT: high accuracy and speed of obtaining a result.
