FIELD: medical devices.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicinal product delivery through expandable catheters. The following is presented: a catheter comprising an expandable part on an elongated body; and a coating on the outer surface of the expandable part. The said coating contains a lipophilic matrix with at least one lipid, more than one microreservoir, including only a crystalline active agent dispersed in the lipophilic matrix. The lipophilic matrix is configured to adhere to the intraluminal surface when the expandable portion is inflated and transfer at least a part from more than one microreservoir to the intraluminal surface. More than one microreservoir is uniform in size and has a maximum particle size of 10 μm, and less than 5% of the more than one microreservoir has a diameter of 1 μm or less. A method of coating an expandable part of a catheter and a method of treating a condition at a treatment site are also described.

EFFECT: maximum therapeutic effect is achieved with minimal toxicity of high doses of medicinal products.
