SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a group of inventions consisting of a compressor, a method of compressing a CO2 stream using a compressor based on supercritical CO2 cycle. Compressor (1,000) is used to treat the flow of CO2; first stage (200) of compressor has first row of blades (250) with first number of blades, and second stage (300) of compressor, downstream of first stage (200) of compressor, has second row of blades (350) with a second number of blades; number of blades of first stage (200) of compressor is less than number of blades of second stage (300) of compressor; there is annular gap (400) between first row of blades (250) and second row of blades (350); first compression stage (200) is configured to ensure that the flow of CO2 is in a supercritical state, preferably close to the critical point of CO2 at its outlet, and that second stage (200) of the compressor treats CO2 in a supercritical state.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of compressor and cycle efficiency.
