SUBSTANCE: invention relates to relay protection of electrical system elements. Device can be used as a stage for remote protection of a power transmission line with a branch, intended for action in case of short circuits in a distributed generation system. Device comprises a set of elements at the opposite end of the protected line to determine resistance, and a unit which analyses signals of resistance measuring elements of the set of elements installed at the protection installation point.
EFFECT: increased sensitivity of distance protection to short circuits.
