FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to chemical processing of synnyrite to obtain potassium sulphate as chlorine-free potassium fertilizers. In the method of processing synnyrite into potassium sulphate, starting material containing synnyrite, calcium sulphate and an alkali-earth carbonate additive is mixed. Obtained mixture is sintered at temperature of 1,050–1,200 °C for 1–5 hours to obtain a cake. Then, obtained cake is leached at temperature of 70–80 °C for 30–60 minutes with subsequent filtration of aluminum-silicon residue with separation of potassium sulphate solution. Separated potassium sulphate solution is evaporated and potassium sulphate is crystallized. Instead of calcium sulphate, phosphogypsum or gypsum-containing additive can be used.
EFFECT: high efficiency of processing potassium-spar raw material in order to obtain high output of potassium sulphate used as agricultural fertilizer.
