FIELD: jewelry industry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the technology of setting an insert into jewelry using a diamond disc under it in order to visually increase the size of a precious stone. Disclosed is a caste for jewelry, comprising a caste base, diamond disc made with cut faces imitating diamond facets, attached and fixed in grooves in cast base by means of soldering and having diametrical size, prongs designed to hold a precious stone having a diametrical size and a surface of the platform facing the diamond disc. Diametral size of diamond disc is larger than diametrical size of precious stone by 0.7–1.4 mm. Base of the cast is made with the possibility of holding and supporting the diamond disc due to fixation in the grooves and by means of jewelry soldering. Cast is made with possibility of stationary support of precious stone in center directly above diamond disc at distance of 0.2–0.6 mm from it so as to provide a magnified image of the precious stone.

EFFECT: disclosed is a method of visually increasing the size of a precious stone, caste for a piece of jewelry.
