FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for electroexplosive sputtering of a wear-resistant composite coating containing an iron-based matrix with inclusions of tungsten carbide on an article made from tool steel. Electric explosion of iron foil with mass of 100–400 mg is carried out with placed on it tungsten carbide powder with mass of 0.5–1.5 of foil mass. Pulsed multiphase plasma jet is formed from explosion products. It fuses a surface of a tool steel article at absorbed power density of 2.2–2.5 GW/m2 with deposition of explosion products on the surface of a tool steel article to form said wear-resistant composite coating.
EFFECT: providing a coating with high wear resistance, hardness, modulus of elasticity, reduced coefficient of friction and high stability of operation in drilling conditions.
