FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, in particular to rapid methods of detecting protein in powdered materials and can be used in biochemical, microbiological, pharmaceutical and food industries. Method involves successive recording, using a FO-1 photometer, of light flux reflection in the visible region of the spectrum from the surface of a metal plate with a sample of a powdered substance of different mass, which has undergone thermal decomposition in the same conditions. Then, graphs of the reflection coefficient of the metal surface with the analysed thermally decomposed powder are plotted against the weight of the analysed sample in an excel editor. Equation of approximating curve is selected so that value of reliability of approximation R2 is equal to one. Equation of the approximating curve is integrated by the maximum and minimum value of the mass of the analysed sample to determine the area of the curvilinear trapezoid and a criterion for recognizing protein-containing and protein-free materials as the ratio of the area of the curvilinear trapezoid of the test substance to the area of the curvilinear trapezoid calculated for the selected comparison standard.

EFFECT: method provides detection of protein in samples of powdered substances.
