FIELD: packing and storage.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a packaging machine and method, in which, for packaging a product (P), cover film (2) is placed on a product (P) and on base film (1) which supports said product (P) and is narrower than cover film (2); applied films (1, 2) are moved in first direction (1D) to connecting unit (5), where both films (1, 2) are attached to each other; and attached films (1, 2) are moved in first direction (1D) to cutting section (6), where films (1, 2) are cut in transverse direction. Moving films (1, 2) is provided by acting on cover film (2).
EFFECT: saving material of the main film.
