FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of determining fatigue life of metal structures of lifting-and-conveying machines, which are subjected to multi-cycle asymmetric loading. Loading the crane metal structure with the weight of the lifted load, wherein in the process of each loading of the crane metal structure, the weight of the lifted load is measured, at each loading cycle of the crane metal structure, the ultimate strength is determined taking into account the effect of interaction of stresses of different levels, asymmetry of the cycle, mechanical properties of the material of the crane metal structure and dependence of the damaging action of the cycle of stresses on the history of loading, at each cycle of loading the crane metal structure, the current value of the stress occurring in the metal structure from the acting load is determined. Loading of the crane metal structure is performed until the ultimate strength of the material of the metal structure is higher than the current value of stress occurring in the metal structure from the acting load. Fatigue life is defined as the value of the number of worked cycles until the ultimate strength of the material of the metal structure is higher than the current value of stress occurring in the metal structure from the acting load.
EFFECT: possibility to perform more accurate prediction of durability, based on mechanical properties of material, which in its turn consists in improvement of reliability of prediction results.
