SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to random access communication systems. Method of configuring a random access parameter is applicable to a network device and includes: determining a PUCCH configuration parameter, wherein the configuration parameter of the physical uplink control channel includes configuration parameters for the terminal of the first type and the terminal of the second type to perform hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for message 4 (Msg.4 HARQ) during random access, wherein the terminal of the first type and the terminal of the second type have different capabilities.
EFFECT: configuring a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) parameter for terminals having different capabilities (exempli gratia, a RedCap terminal).
