FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment. Method of determining mechanical properties of biological material involves preparing a test specimen using a cutting device and conducting tests using a testing device. Unprepared specimen is placed on the base of the device for cutting specimens and fixed by bolts with the help of a clamp. During vertical movement of the cylindrical part with cutting edges of the device for cutting, the test specimen is cut. Base of the cutting device is a plate with holes, and its clamp is a plate with a rectangular cutout in the centre and holes coaxial to the holes in the base. Test specimen is placed in the jaws of the test device and clamped by means of clamps. Testing device consists of detachably connected detachable accessories, in which a test specimen is installed, and a container for physiological solution, in the lower part of which there is a support with a dovetail connector, the mating part of which is made in the lower part of the detachable tooling. Detachable tooling with test specimen is installed in container with solution by means of dovetail connector. Assembled testing device is placed in testing machine and load is applied by moving its crossbar upwards to move pusher, forces are transferred by means of two chamfers of the pusher to side jaws and moved along guides cut in plates of detachable tooling, carrying out elongation of the test specimen. Test results are used to determine the mechanical properties of the biological material.
