FIELD: machine tool industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in drives of the main movement of metal-working machines, in the kinematic chain of which there is a belt transmission. Electric drive comprises a controller connected to the input of the frequency converter of the electric motor; at that, control signals are generated in the controller in the form of a setting for angular speed of cutting. Frequency converter generates the required frequency and amplitude of currents and voltages on the electric motor stator, as well as the angle of shift between them, in accordance with the controller setting. Electric motor is connected to the spindle of the machine through a belt transmission, which includes a driving and a driven pulleys, as well as a reduction gear. Electric drive further comprises a computer, the input of which is connected to the output of the current cutting angular speed computer, and the output is connected to the corresponding input of the adder of the frequency converter, note here that said computer can feed belt rigidity and driven pulley radius.

EFFECT: thus, the electric drive device allows to take into account the belt transmission stretching and to compensate for the cutting speed error in the static mode, as a result, accuracy and quality of workpieces processing on the machine are increased.
