FIELD: ceramics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of functional and technical ceramics, electrolyte material for solid oxide fuel elements, cutting tools, nozzles, bearings. Method of producing yttrium-stabilized zirconium dioxide powders involves preparing solutions of zirconium and yttrium salts, formation of basic zirconium sulphate by thermal hydrolysis by mixing initial solutions of a zirconium salt and a sulphating agent at room temperature. Thermohydrolysis step is carried out in the presence of sulphate ions with a molar ratio of SO42/Zr4+ from 0.4 to 0.6 with further heating to temperature of 60 to 70 °C with holding for 30 to 90 minutes, adding a solution of yttrium salt to the basic zirconium sulphate obtained at the previous step. Method then includes coprecipitation of hydroxides with aqueous ammonia solution, washing precipitate of metal hydroxides to concentration of chloride or nitrate ions of not more than 0.01 mol/dm3, heating the suspension at temperature of 100 °C to 130 °C with holding for up to 12 hours. Further, the obtained precipitate is dried and annealed at temperature of 900 °C to 1,100 °C, combined grinding of obtained powder with addition of aluminum oxide from 0.1 to 0.3 wt.% for at least 4 hours, powder granulation by spray drying.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain molding powder based on zirconium dioxide for making high-density ceramics with density of not less than 5.95 g/dm3.
