METHOD FOR PLASMA ELECTROCHEMICAL PROCESSING OF GRAPHITE FROM USED LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC H01M10/54 H01M4/583

Abstract RU 2825576 C1

FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to a method for plasma electrochemical processing of graphite of used lithium-ion batteries (LIB), and can be used in processing and recycling LIB with improvement of electrochemical characteristics of graphite. After processing the LIB and obtaining a precipitate containing graphite, a graphite suspension with a solid weight concentration of 1–10% is prepared with the addition of a salt or acid with concentration of 5 to 80 % by weight, consisting of an alkali, alkali-earth metal cation, and an anion which is not oxidizable in an aqueous solvent (sulphate, nitrate, phosphate, perchlorate, hydrophosphate, dihydrophosphate), or an acid with an anion which is not oxidisable in an aqueous solvent (sulfuric, chloric, hydroiodic, selenic, chloric, phosphoric acids), or hydrogen peroxide, after which the obtained suspension is treated with plasma generated on the positive electrode of the electrolytic cell, at direct current from 0.05 to 0.2 A/cm2 and voltage 0.1–100 kV for 10–60 minutes.

EFFECT: improved capacitance characteristics of the processed graphite anode material during processing of lithium-ion accumulators.
