FIELD: marine equipment.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for sampling water from the surface of a reservoir using a helicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), consisting in completing the apparatus with an on-board control device and a navigation system, fixing location of sampling points and recording data into a storage device; control of UAV by operator from base station by means of wireless communication; equipping the UAV with a cable and fixing the sampler at the end of the cable; transportation of the sampler to the sampling point; placing and holding the sampler on the water surface by reducing the UAV until it is filled with a sample; takeoff and movement to the required point, landing and sampling. Sampler in the form of a replaceable container is placed in a holder, which is fixed on the cable, wherein from the ends of the holder floats are placed, having positive buoyancy and capable of holding the sampler on the surface of the reservoir until it is filled with a sample, and on the holder there is a water touch sensor in a sealed housing, which is equipped with a power supply and a radio-frequency module interacting with the on-board UAV control device via wireless communication.

EFFECT: invention provides retention of sampler on surface during sampling, possibility of using replaceable samplers and possibility of automatic determination by operator located at considerable distance, moment of contact of sampler with water surface.
