FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing a starch sponge with haemostatic, antibacterial and antiviral action, characterized by the fact that the main component of the organic matrix of the starch sponge is native and/or modified potato starch - amylose and/or amylopectin, and/or hydrolysed by acid, and/or hydrolysed by alkali, and/or hydrolysed by amylolytic enzymes, and/or oxidised, and/or oxyalkyl starch, and/or carboxymethyl starch, and/or cationic, and/or anionic, and/or amphoteric, and/or phosphate, and/or acetate, and/or cross-linked, from which 1–30% water-starch paste is prepared as a result of gradual addition of starch suspension to boiling water while stirring until complete gelatinisation of starch and subsequent cooling to temperature of 20–25 °C; further, additional components are added to the prepared water-starch paste in amount of 5–40%: powdered haemostatic agent: oxidised cellulose, and/or chitosan, and/or native cellulose, and/or microfibrillar collagen, and/or gelatine, and/or tranexamic acid, and/or thrombin, and/or common yarrow, and/or common nettle, and/or great burnet, and/or shepherd's purse, and/or broadleaf plantain, and/or inebriating mint, and/or longleaf speedwell, and/or wood avens, and/or common tormentil, and/or St. John's wort, and/or viburnum bark, powdered antibiotic: beta-lactam - penicillin group or cephalosporin group, or macrolide group, or tetracycline group, or aminoglycoside group, or chloramphenicol group, or glycopeptides, or lincosamides, or anti-tuberculosis, or antifungal, or anti-leprosy, or an antibacterial agent, or a mixture of various antibacterial agents with a synergistic effect, and powdered antiviral agent: human α-interferon, and/or human β-interferon, and/or human γ-interferon, with subsequent mechanical stirring for 5–10 minutes at a mixer rotation frequency of 60–200 rpm, transfer of the obtained mixture of the starch matrix of the sponge with a haemostatic agent, antibacterial and antiviral agent in the mould and further freezing at a temperature of -5 °C to -70 °C, thawing at temperature from +20 °C to +30 °C, with dehydration and drying at a temperature of not more than +60 °C.
EFFECT: present invention provides development of a simple and effective method of producing a starch sponge from a starch base - water-starch paste (native potato starch, modified potato starch) with haemostatic, antibacterial and antiviral action.
