Invention discloses an isolated modified protein VP1 of the capsid of adeno-associated virus of serotype 9 (AAV9), which contains one or more amino acid substitutions compared to the VP1 protein of the wild-type AAV9 capsid, which increase efficiency of production (assembly) of vector based on recombinant adeno-associated virus of serotype 9 (rAAV9), capsid and vector based on said modified VP1 AAV9, as well as their use for delivery of a gene product to a subject in need thereof.
