Technical result is achieved due to the fact that the wear detection system receives the left image and the right image of the working machine bucket, comprising at least one bit for earthworks (GET), then the system identifies the first desired area from the left image corresponding to the GET, and the second desired area from the right image corresponding to the GET, after which the system generates a digital image of the left edge corresponding to the first desired area, and a digital image of the right edge corresponding to the second desired area, then the system determines the scattered stereoscopic disparity between the digital image of the left edge and the digital image of the right edge, determines measurement data associated with the GET, and also determines the level of wear or loss for at least one GET based on the measurement results.

EFFECT: providing tracking of wear of a bit of a tool for earthwork in time.
