SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DETECTING WEAR OR LOSS OF TOOLS FOR EARTHWORK Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC E02F9/26 G06T7/10

Abstract RU 2823705 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a system and a method for detecting wear or loss of structural elements of earth-moving equipment in time using computer vision. System for detecting wear or loss of a tool for earthwork is equipped with the following components: a camera, a processor, as well as a non-volatile computer-readable data medium which stores executable instructions. Executable instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform the following operations: capturing a video stream from a camera, the video stream including a plurality of bucket-tool images associated with a working machine bucket, where the bucket includes a plurality of excavation tools; segmenting the plurality of images using the bucket-tool pattern for segmenting the plurality of images of teeth from the captured bucket-tool images, wherein bucket-tool template includes a template image of a bucket with a plurality of unworn tools for earthwork; selecting an image for analysis for detection of wear based on segmentation into a plurality of teeth images; identifying at least one of the plurality of excavation tools on the selected image of the plurality of tooth images based at least in part on the location of the plurality of unworn tools in the bucket-tool pattern; determining the level of wear or loss for at least one of the plurality of excavation tools; in which access to the "bucket-tool" pattern is based, at least in part, on the input of an operator associated with the bucket of the working machine.

EFFECT: determination of the degree of wear or loss of teeth and prediction of their replacement.
