FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of a compound of formula (1), (2), (3) or (4) or a combination thereof in bone growth stimulation or prevention bone pathologies associated with disturbed growth of bone tissue, wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 independently represent a long-chain fatty acid containing from 16 to 20 carbon atoms. Invention also relates to use of compositions containing compounds of formulas (5) and (6) for stimulating bone tissue growth, and/or prevention, and/or treatment of bone pathologies associated with disturbed growth of bone tissue, selected from a group of medical conditions associated with a decrease in the content of the organic matrix of bone tissue, such as osteopenia or osteoporosis, and/or with reduced bone mineralization, such as osteomalacia and rickets.
EFFECT: use of said compounds provides a food source of butyrate with improved organoleptic properties, in particular with improved smell and/or taste, they can be used, for example, in nutritional compositions, dietary supplements, infant formula and mixtures for infant feeding.
