FIELD: water treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water treatment, in particular to water sterilization plants using ultraviolet radiation for disinfection of water for consumption as drinking water. Invention can also be used in treatment and disinfection of waste and underground water. Water sterilizer is a closed form of a cylinder and includes an ultraviolet disinfection chamber, inlet and outlet nozzles tightly connected to it, ultraviolet lamps with electric contacts, as well as a power supply unit connected to electric contacts of ultraviolet lamps, the ultraviolet disinfection chamber is made of stainless steel. Sterilizer is non-contact. Chamber serves as a water chute. At least one ultraviolet lamp is installed in the chamber at a given distance from the surface of the water flow above the places of arrangement of the inlet and outlet branch pipes, in at least one row of one or several successively one after another ultraviolet lamps. Ultraviolet disinfection chamber is inclined horizontally by 5-10 degrees. According to the second version, the chamber acts as a water accumulator. V-shaped chute for initial water is installed in the chamber under the water inlet branch pipe. Length of the chute is such that the sterilized water can flow into the accumulating chamber. V-shaped chute has an internal angle of 120 to 160 degrees and is inclined horizontally by 5-10 degrees.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of water disinfection.
