FIELD: hydrotreating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of catalysts for use in hydrotreating hydrocarbon fractions. Disclosed is a catalyst for use in processes for hydrotreating hydrocarbon fractions, comprising a metal carrier and an active catalytic layer, where the metal support is made in the form of metal wool with a fiber size of up to 90 mcm, and the active catalytic layer with thickness of 0.1 to 10 mcm contains, in wt.%, 80–85 of platinum oxide, 5–10 of phosphorus oxide and 5–10 of carbon, and a method of producing the disclosed catalyst.
EFFECT: high specific activity, low specific weight and attrition of the catalyst, simple technology of producing the catalyst.
