FIELD: catalyst production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalyst carrier, which can be used in a variety of heterogeneous catalytic processes. Catalyst carrier of invention represents layered ceramic-metal composite containing nonporous or low-porous oxide coating, wherein ratio of metal base thickness to thickness of nonporous or low-porous oxide coating ranges between 10:1 and 1:5; or represents layered ceramic-metal composite containing nonporous or low-porous oxide coating and high-porous oxide layer, wherein ratio of metal base thickness to thickness of nonporous or low-porous oxide coating ranges between 10:1 and 1:5 and that of metal base thickness to thickness of high-porous layer between 1:10 and 1:5. Invention provides method of preparing metal-based carrier wherein metal base is a smooth or corrugated foil tape, onto which nonporous or low-porous powdered coating is deposited by detonation spraying technique followed by (according to second option) depositing high-porous oxide coating.
EFFECT: considerably increased heat resistance of carrier at high adhesion of porous ceramic layer preserved.
