FIELD: radar.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in formation of radar images (RI) of the earth's surface using synthetic aperture radars (SAR) placed on spacecraft (SC). Said technical results are achieved by the fact that in the space multi-mode SAR with a scanning hybrid-mirror antenna, the SAR includes a signal generation and digitization device (SGDD), output of which is the output of the SAR, and a parabolic counter-reflector is introduced into the scanning mirror antenna, the focus of which coincides with the position of the focus of the reflector, irradiation system is made in the form of a flat active phased antenna array (APAA), oriented perpendicular to the axis of the reflector and placed between it and the counter-reflector; wherein APAA is made with possibility of two-dimensional electronic scanning of antenna beam, second control output and signal output "Reference frequency" of the signals and commands generator are connected to the first and second inputs of the SGDD, respectively, input-output of SGDD through receiving-transmitting microwave path is connected to input-output of irradiating system.
EFFECT: high radiometric sensitivity of the SAR by reducing losses in the receiving-transmitting microwave path during signal transmission and reducing the total noise factor of the receiving path of the SAR; faster switching of searchlight and survey scanning modes of radar survey; higher efficiency of spacecraft.
