FIELD: bullet traps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for testing small arms and more specifically to bullet traps. Bullet trap comprises a hollow housing in the form of a polyhedron or a cylinder filled with a braking medium, wherein one of the bases of the housing is a receiving opening for bullets, and the other base is made in the form of a blind wall. Essence of the claimed technical solution consists in the fact that the bullet trap in the area of the receiving window is equipped with a detachable bullet pre-braking means made of one or more polymer brake plates arranged one after another in the firing direction, with Shore hardness of plates in range of 60 to 100 units and plate thickness of 15 to 30 mm. At that, each polymer brake plate is equipped at the edges with at least two protrusions, wherein one of the protrusions is fixed by means of a coupling grip installed on the housing, and other protrusions of the polymer brake plate are located in the brackets fixed on the housing, wherein the brackets and the captive grip are provided with bridges with formation of slots of the same size, in each of which the corresponding protrusion of the polymer brake plate is placed.
EFFECT: reduction of bullet speed without violation of its integrity.
