FIELD: transport facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerial obstacles intended for protection of open body part of motor vehicles from enemy air attack means, namely from falling projectiles from low altitudes, delivered by small-size unmanned aerial vehicles. Proposed method consists in installation of carcass with protective mesh on vehicle body. Mesh is tensioned to the condition that provides the projectile rejection from the lateral face of the mesh. Mesh protective device is a rectangular pyramid shape consisting of polyamide cables and four supports from high-strength material, installed at the corners of the body sides, fifth support fixed at the upper point of intersection of the cables, the lines of which pass at angle of 45–60° in relation to the plane of the base of the pyramid, and at the lower point - in the centre of intersection of the cables passing through the middle lines of the two axes of the plane of the base of the pyramid. Rectangular pyramid is covered with a protective mesh made of polyamide fibre with a nominal diameter of the fibre thread which is two times less than the ropes and a square cell with a side of not more than 25 mm.
EFFECT: providing effective mechanical and camouflage protection of automotive equipment from small-calibre projectiles falling from small-size unmanned aerial vehicles.
