FIELD: weapons.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to weapons, namely to a jet projectile with a deployable braking device. Projectile with opening braking device comprises head part, jet engine, aerodynamic stabilizer with opening arched blades, opening braking device including shields with surfaces that are arched in transverse direction. Deploying braking device is mounted in a compartment located between the head part and the jet engine. Distance between the centre of the shields in their open position and the position of the centre of mass of the jet projectile after burning of the jet engine fuel, measured along the longitudinal axis of the jet projectile, does not exceed 3 calibres of the jet projectile. Windward surfaces of braking device shields make angle of 80°…135° with the longitudinal axis of the jet projectile.
EFFECT: creation of a jet projectile with a deployable braking device with an extended range of firing ranges due to reduction of minimum range.
