FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for presentation of multimedia content and a method of operating said device. Multimedia content display device comprises a screen and is configured to: receive data corresponding to content and content sources with which the user of the device has previously interacted; based on data on the age of interaction with content and content sources, determine an initial element that corresponds to the last content or content source with which the user interacted last; generate a list based on the content playback history in ascending order of playback age and a list based on the content sources access history in ascending order of access time; generate and display on the screen an element feed, which includes said initial element located in the centre, elements of a list built on the basis of the content playback history, located on one side of the initial element, and elements of a list built based on the history of accessing content sources, located on the other side of the initial element; receive an action from a user and perform one of the following: play content or access a content source; move the element feed on the screen; returning the feed display to the initial position when the initial element is depicted as the central element in the feed.
EFFECT: reducing the number of remote control button presses for accessing a content source or playing content to which the user accessed in the past.
