METHOD FOR PRESERVING INFRAMAMMARY FOLD WHEN PERFORMING SUBCUTANEOUS OR SKIN-PRESERVING RADICAL MASTECTOMY Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/00 A61F13/02

Abstract RU 2830291 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surgery, oncology and reconstructive surgery. After the mastectomy is completed, the patient is verticalized on an operating table. Formed skin-fat cover is stretched relative to the inframammary fold (IMF) in the direction of the anterior abdominal wall caudally and fixed with tissue plaster strips in amount of 9 pieces in medial, central and lateral directions. Each strip is installed so that the first half of the length of the plaster strip is fixed on the skin-fat cover, and the second half—on the chest wall. Three plaster strips are installed in the central direction in the projection of the breast area so that they are perpendicular to the floor. Three plaster strips are installed in the medial direction in the projection of the pre-sternal and epigastric regions, at the same time they are directed in the direction of the middle line of the body. And three plaster strips are installed in lateral direction in projection of lateral region of breast and obliquely in direction of anterior axillary line.

EFFECT: method provides obtaining a preserved inframammary fold (IMF), relative to which the reconstructed mammary gland should be ptosis, and the absence of deformation of the skin cover, which will allow at the stage of delayed reconstruction, with correct subsequent mobilization, to form an aesthetically acceptable skin-fat pocket and, accordingly, to obtain a further satisfactory cosmetic effect.
