FIELD: materials science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to materials science, namely to synthesis of superstructural heat-resistant and thermoplastic polyarylate-polysulphone block copolymers. Described is an acceptor-catalytic method for synthesis of polyarylate-polysulphonic block copolymers based on phenolphthalein, oligosulphones with terminal phenol groups and terephthalic acid dichloride in an organic solvent in the presence of triethylamine at room temperature, where the organic solvent used is a mixture of dioxane and dimethylformamide with content of latter from 25 to 75 wt.%, preferably at 50 wt.%.
EFFECT: controlling the molecular weight of the block copolymers in order to obtain materials with an optimum combination of physical properties and viscosity of the melt when processed into articles by injection moulding or extrusion; in addition, the use of these solvents allows avoiding the use of alcohols when precipitating and washing the synthesized block copolymers and using only desalinated water for these purposes.
